Hi to all and thanks for your faithful support of African Monsters, with a special shout-out to Jonathan G. as backer #500! We are inches away from unlocking several new cryptid creatures, the engariya and guiamala, and we're excited to see if we've got a great late surge to come in and bring us on home!
It all ends on Thursday evening, so we look forward to a fabulous finish so we can finalize the monsters in the book and get this beautiful bestiary on its way to you! Please share this project with your friends and fellow 5E fans, and thanks once again for helping us Make Your Game Legendary!

Thanks to all of your amazing support, we have unlocked another new bonus monster stretch goal, with Harold S pushing us over the $15,000 mark to unlock mummified crocodiles and elephants to a little bit of ancient horror to your campaign! We look forward to our next bonus monsters at $20,000 with mysterious cryptids of the African wild with the prehistoric engariya and the towering guiamala! We'll have art previews on the way for them soon!
Speaking of bonus monsters, though, after hearing a question from one of our backers about our other bestiaries, we have added the biggest bonuses of them all with three top-end pledges, Up to Eleven Bonus Bundles featuring ALL ELEVEN of our Legendary Bestiary books in PDF, print, and even a Deluxe bundle featuring the beautiful embossed leatherette hardcover Boricubos: Latin American Monsters & Adventures and Faerie Bestiary books! For any fans who want to make their monster collection truly Legendary, get them all at a magnificent Kickstarter-only discount!

Thanks to every one of you for your fantastic support of the first week of African Monsters, with a special shout-out to Sean S. (backer #400)! We are closing in our second stretch goal, with mummified elephants and crocodiles! We've already got the art going, and here's the current work-in-progress from artist David Suarez! More mummy wrappings coming soon. :)
While we're rocketing along with African Monsters, building our stretch goals with new creatures in a traditional Kickstarter, we also decided to try an experiment. Over on Backerkit, we've launched a Backerkit project running at the same time with Hoard Monsters for D&D 5E 2024 and Pathfinder Second Edition!
Wait, how can we do projects at once? We already did. The books are already DONE. Not almost, not mostly. All the way done. The project is running just over two weeks, ending March 13, and your rewards are ready and waiting for you!
You'll get same-day fulfillment on all PDFs as soon as the project ends!
Physical books and magic item cards are ready to start shipping!
Roll20 VTT modules are complete, Foundry modules are in progress, and those will start rolling out to backers once we finalize pledge surveys!
Hoard Monsters features over 3 dozen treasure guardians, dungeon denizens, living traps, and more for D&D 5E 2024 and Pathfinder Second Edition! Loot is more fun when you really have to fight for it, but if you want treasure to go with your Hoard Monsters, you can bundle it with the incredible Triple Treasury bundle and Pieces of Eight Mega-Bundle for PF2 or the Ultimate Treasury and Legendary Loot Cards for D&D 5E! Get enough treasure to stock a hundred hoards in PDF, print, Roll20, and Foundry!
We thank you a thousand times for your support of African Monsters, but if some deadly treasures seem like they might be up your ally, we hope you'll check out Hoard Monsters too!

Hello to all and thanks so much for your incredible support of this project, with a special salute to backer Jchon B whose pledge pushed us over the $10,000 mark and unlocked our first stretch goal! Welcome to Ayelala, the orisha of justice and vengeance!
Ayelala artwork by Marco Morales Yanez (aka Peyeyo)
This celestial emissary of the heavens is one of the orisha from the Yoruba culture of Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and the surrounding region. In the real world, orisha are sometimes considered gods, some ascended from mortal status, others as intermediaries between the heavenly realms and mortals. In the African Monsters bestiary, we present a number of orisha in that latter role as celestials beyond mortality but not fully divine.
I've posted up a set of stretch goals on the Kickstarter so you can see what's coming up soon (next stretch goal is mummified crocodiles and elephants at $15K) as we continue to grow this amazing book! Keep spreading the word wherever you can, and we hope we can make this book truly Legendary!
PS - Just for fun, we like to shout out our milestone backers, so let's give three cheers to Serena N (backer #100), Corey B (backer #200), and Tomas BC (backer #300)!
Thanks so much for a sensational start!

We want to thank each and every one of you for helping this project to rise like a rocket, with a special tip of the cap to Erik D.K. for pushing us over our base funding goal of $5,000! We look forward to a marvelous campaign and hope you will help us spread the word about this amazing project anywhere you can to friends and fellow 5E fans! Just share this link with them, and if you'd like a graphic to post on your socials, by all means please do grab any of these. If you see an ad for the project, or a post about it in a D&D Facebook group or ENWorld, give it a like or love or a comment if you can! Nothing beats great word of mouth, so your enthusiasm is a blessing to all of us working to make these books Legendary!
We've had a few messages from backers already and so we've added some extra bits and pieces to the project:
You can now order the Asian Monsters, Latin American Monsters, and Mediterranean Monsters PDFs, softcovers, and VTT modules as individual add-ons rather than all-or-nothing in the World of Monsters bundle.
We've added the VTT Pawn Sets as separate add-ons as well. If you already have ordered the VTT module, you automatically get the Pawn Set for that bestiary. These are for folks who only want the tokens but not the full module.
We've also added links to all our social media at the bottom of the Kickstarter page, in case you would like to follow us there! This includes our Legendary Loot Patreon, with new 5E content every single day, including FREE content every 5E Friday FREE-day!
If you know anyplace that we should be talking up African Monsters, by all means suggest them and we'll get up there ASAP!
I'll be posting up our first set of stretch goals soon! Thanks again and let's keep this project flying!
